One of the exciting new developers
in Australasian Pro junior surfing is Laurie
Towner from Angourie NSW.
Laurie is part of the new generation of Kids
holding the flag high for Australia. A quite
kid with heaps of talent, Laurie is starting
to build a strong reputation throughout the
global surfing community.
Growing
up at Angourie, Laurie has had the opportunity
to mix it amongst some of Australia's finest
surfers including the likes of Navrin Fox, Jeremy
Walters, and 2003 Australasian Junior Champion
Dan Ross.
At age 17, Laurie has already established himself
as a strong competitor on the ASP junior series.
Last year Laurie competed on the 2003 junior
series with some solid results. He went on his
first trip to the Mentawai’s and featured
in his first video, "Stepping Stones".
In 2004 Laurie left School to focus on competing
on the 2004 junior series. Laurie acheived some
good results and finished the year in 23rd positon.
This year Laurie is focusing on the junior
series and a top 15 finish. Currently sponsored
by Billabong, Reef, and Von Zipper, Laurie is
set to take the next few years by storm.
